On Being Alone

Many thanks to Bry-Guy for sharing this awesome video with me. It's inspired me to go to a movie by myself. Happy Saturday, everyone.

  1. I actually enjoy seeing movies by myself. Now going out to eat by myself... that is a different story.

  2. The technical aspects of the video were pretty cool, and I loved the house she was in, but overall, I have to give this video a thumbs down. It was just kinda stupid.

  3. I hope you come to a place where you're comfortable with the aloneness. I remember having to adjust to being okay with being by myself : movies, eating, shopping, etc. I never went to a nice restaurant, but I didn't mind the fast food, coffee shop scenes.

  4. What a great video! I'm going to go see Eat, Pray, Love by myself today. If you go on Sunday at 11:50 am it makes it easier to start with.

You will be fine. I mean it. I once thought I wouldn't be, but I was. I learned to go to movies alone, eat alone (at the bar...I never got to a table), and even travel alone (and you meet the coolest people when you are alone and just look open). And then I found love again and it was good. You will too.

Trust me! Here, have a bucket of hugs.

  6. i love going and doing things by myself from time to time. it may come from being an only child; however, as i tell all my friends who look at me funny when i mention having seen a movie alone: if you can't enjoy your own company, how can you expect someone else to enjoy it too?

  7. This poem was fantastic.

I have done movies and dinner alone, no problem. When I was single I would sometimes travel alone. Later in life I came to enjoy the freedom of living alone. I think it is wonderful to feel safe and empowered inside yourself.
